The Cook I, Part-Time position is an entry-level culinary role within the Food & Beverage business unit, reporting directly to the Lead Cook and Executive Sous Chef. This role is fundamental to ensuring the back-of-house operations run smoothly and that guests receive high-quality food and beverage experiences consistent with Crystal Mountain's high standards. With a pay range of $21 to $23 per hour, this position not only offers competitive compensation but also eligibility for employee housing, making it an attractive opportunity for seasonal adventurers or those looking to build a culinary career in a unique mountain setting.

Job Requirements

  • 1-2 years experience in kitchen operations
  • Ability to obtain Washington Food Safety Card within 3 days of hiring
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours at a time
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays at different venues and/or locations
  • Willingness to learn and develop as a culinary professional
  • Some culinary outlets require intermediate skiing/snowboarding ability
  • Eligible for employee housing
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds on occasion

Job Qualifications

  • 1-2 years experience in kitchen operations
  • Basic knife skills
  • Basic ability to follow recipes
  • Basic understanding of food sanitation, FIFO and food storage
  • Willingness to learn and receive training from chefs
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Some culinary outlets require intermediate skiing or snowboarding ability

Job Duties

  • Follow recipes and chef guidance on stations
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of assigned station and entire kitchen
  • Deliver high-quality and properly served food and beverage products
  • Develop a positive public image of the outlet and Crystal Mountain Resort
  • Learn and develop culinary techniques under chef supervision
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards including FIFO and proper food storage
