The role of Cook I at Sodexo involves working at the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, offering full-time employment with a pay rate of $16.00 per hour. This position requires flexibility with open availability across any shift, ensuring responsiveness to the dynamic needs of the healthcare environment. As Cook I, you will be an integral member of the kitchen team, responsible for preparing and presenting a variety of hot and cold foods across multiple meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events or catering services. In this role, attention to detail, efficiency, and a passion for food quality and customer service are essential.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0 to 2 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Ability to follow food safety guidelines
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Prepare portion control, cook and present a variety of cold and/or hot foods for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events/catering
  • Read and follow basic recipes and/or product instructions to prepare various foods
  • Prepare foods and attend to customers ordering a la carte and/or operate a grill station
  • Attend work and show up for scheduled shifts on time with sufficient regularity
  • Perform additional duties as assigned that may vary between accounts depending on business needs and client requirements
