We are currently seeking a Back of House Team Member who is passionate about cooking and eager to contribute to the smooth operation of our kitchen. This role centers on preparing, cooking, and assembling food items accurately following established recipes and rigorous standards. The successful candidate will have solid knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, excellent organizational capabilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key elements of the role include measuring and preparing ingredients, cooking food items to the correct internal temperatures, assembling customer orders with precision, and maintaining cleanliness within their workstations. The position demands a cooperative spirit and clear communication with both kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and superior food presentation.
In this role, you will utilize various kitchen equipment such as ovens and blenders and be responsible for making sure all ingredients are well-stocked and prepped in a timely manner according to our prep lists. Attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to follow written recipes and cooking instructions closely to maintain the quality and consistency of all dishes served. Additionally, you will help to uphold our hygiene standards by performing cleaning and sanitation duties at opening and closing shifts, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment. Collaboration with other team members and management is vital to maintaining efficient operations and a pleasant work environment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cooking experience preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation best practices
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cook in a fast-casual or restaurant setting is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations is preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Job Duties
- Measure and prepare all ingredients according to recipes
- Ensure all ingredients are stocked with appropriate quantities
- Complete the prep list according to time expectations for each task
- Operate various kitchen equipment including ovens and blenders
- Cook food items to proper temperatures ensuring food safety
- Follow cooking instructions included in recipes and guides
- Monitor food quality and presentation throughout the cooking process
- Assemble customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Garnish and plate dishes attractively
- Coordinate with Expo to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Maintain clean and organized workstations, equipment, and storage areas
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment after each use
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Perform opening and closing cleaning duties as assigned
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with all staff
- Complete tasks as requested by leadership
- Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth operations
