Job Description
Crossroads Turning Points is a distinguished institution in the behavioral health sector, with over 45 years of unwavering commitment to helping individuals overcome the challenges associated with substance misuse and mental health issues. Recognized for its compassionate approach and comprehensive support, Crossroads Turning Points provides a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment for patients seeking recovery and a healthier lifestyle. As a leader in the behavioral health field, the organization continuously strives to deliver high-quality services that cater to the diverse needs of its community, ensuring each individual receives personal care and professional guidance on their journey to recovery.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Cook for our unit. This role is pivotal in supporting the overall recovery process by ensuring nutritious, delicious, and properly prepared meals are served to our patients. The Cook will be responsible for preparing food in quantities aligned with the menu and the number of individuals served, baking breads and pastries, and maintaining cleanliness and order in the kitchen. The position requires working closely with the Kitchen Supervisor and other team members to uphold the highest standards of food safety, quality, and hygiene.
At Crossroads Turning Points, the Cook will not only be preparing meals but also contributing to the nurturing and healing environment that supports patients' physical and mental well-being. This role demands attention to detail, adherence to established procedures, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting. Additionally, the Cook will manage food inventory, assist with deliveries, and maintain accurate food records including meal counts, usage, and temperature logs. A critical aspect of the role is to follow proper food rotation techniques such as FIFO to ensure food safety and minimize waste.
Applicants must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening—this includes testing for marijuana—as well as a comprehensive background check and a tuberculosis test. The physical demands of the job include the ability to lift at least 40 pounds and safely operate kitchen equipment. Reasonable accommodations are available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.
The Cook position offers a competitive hourly wage of $19.00 per hour, alongside a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid holidays and administrative leave; a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5%; and opportunities for career advancement within the organization. Crossroads Turning Points values its employees and provides a supportive work environment designed to promote personal and professional growth.
Joining Crossroads Turning Points means becoming part of a dedicated team committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those struggling with behavioral health challenges. If you are passionate about cooking and desire to contribute to a positive and healing setting, apply today at www.crossroadstp.org by visiting the employment tab. The closing date for applications is May 28, 2026, or open until the position is filled. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds who share our mission and values.
