The current opportunity is for a Cook position at the Inova Mount Vernon Hospital located at 2501 Parker's Lane, Alexandria, VA. Both full-time and part-time positions are available with flexible schedules that may include early mornings, midday, or afternoon shifts, and rotating weekends are required. The pay range for this role is $18.25 to $18.50 per hour, and qualified candidates will receive a $1500 sign-on bonus distributed over 30 and 90 days of employment. This position requires a minimum of one year of prior cooking experience and provides a stable work environment that values safety, cleanliness, and food quality. This role is vital in providing high-quality, nutritious meals to hospital patients, ensuring food safety, appropriate portion control, and appealing presentation according to established recipes and health regulations.

As a Cook with Morrison Healthcare, you will be responsible for preparing food items that adhere to federal, state, and corporate standards while maintaining an organized, clean, and safe kitchen environment. The role involves food preparation according to standardized recipes, careful portioning, tasting foods for quality, and maintaining food temperature and presentation standards. Additionally, you will be involved in cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, storage areas, and ensuring compliance with safe food-handling procedures. The position also entails assisting with production planning, inventory management, supply ordering, and reporting faulty equipment or maintenance needs.
