We are currently hiring for full-time and part-time Cook positions located at Saint Mary's School in Raleigh, North Carolina. These roles are available with flexible schedules, including Monday through Friday or weekend shifts, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm or 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The pay range is competitive, from $16.00 to $18.00 per hour, with additional incentives such as an internal employee referral bonus, free meals, uniforms, and laundering service at select locations. This position requires previous cooking and knife skills experience as a basic necessity. Candidates will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic team focused on delivering exceptional food service that meets federal, state, and corporate standards.
As a Cook at FISD, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items in accordance with established recipes and guidelines, ensuring that every meal served is both attractive and delicious. You will be involved in all aspects of food preparation, including proper portion control, food tasting, and maintaining safe food-handling procedures. A critical part of your role will be cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen area, managing inventory, storing supplies correctly, and operating kitchen equipment efficiently. You will assist with production planning, record-keeping, ordering, and receiving to maintain smooth operations. Adherence to all company policies related to safety, including the use of protective gloves, oven mitts, and slip-resistant shoes, is mandatory to maintain a safe working environment.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cooking experience required
- Knowledge of knife skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for long periods and lifting
- Availability to work full-time or part-time schedules including weekends
- Basic food safety knowledge
- Ability to follow safety guidelines including use of protective gloves and equipment
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to comply with company policies and procedures

- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving maintaining cleanliness and safety
- Stores or discards excess food following safe food-handling procedures
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assists in production planning, record keeping, ordering, and receiving
- Reports maintenance needs, equipment faults, or accidents promptly
- Attends in-service and safety meetings
- Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers
- Follows all company policies on safety and food handling including the use of protective gloves and slip-resistant shoes
