The Food Unit Lead position at the Alaska Airlines Training Center in Renton, WA, offers both full-time and part-time employment opportunities, with a pay range of $23.00 to $25.00 per hour. This role is essential in ensuring the preparation and service of high-quality food that meets federal, state, and corporate standards. The Food Unit Lead is responsible for managing food production tasks, including cold and hot food preparation, ensuring proper portion control, and maintaining food safety and hygiene standards. Job Requirements
- Experience with catering, customer service, cold food and hot food preparation required
- Ability to work full-time or part-time schedules including weekends
- Commitment to safety protocols including the use of protective gloves and slip-resistant shoes
- Ability to maintain a clean, safe work environment
- Successful completion of any required background screening
- Eligibility to work at the specified location
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with catering and customer service
- Knowledge of cold and hot food preparation
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and food safety procedures
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in a kitchen environment
Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions
- Serves meals with correct portioning and proper temperature
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service

- Stores or discards excess food following safe food-handling procedures
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of refrigerators and storerooms
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
