The Food Service Supervisor role at Dismas Charities is a full-time position, offering a salary of $22.84 per hour. This position entails 40 hours a week, with a flexible split shift schedule Monday through Friday, covering early mornings and afternoons, which accommodates the operational needs of the facility while promoting a balanced work schedule.

As a Food Service Supervisor, the incumbent is primarily responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of meal preparation, kitchen operations, and food service inventory within the center. The position requires direct accountability for preparing meals and nutritional supplements tailored to the facility residents under approved guidelines. Collaborating closely with the Director, the Food Service Supervisor ensures compliance with applicable health, safety, and operational standards as outlined by regulatory bodies and company policies.

A key component of the role involves assisting with menu planning according to nutritional standards and licensed dietitian recommendations, while effectively communicating any changes to both staff and residents. The incumbent also takes charge of maintaining food service equipment, managing inventory levels, coordinating procurement, and fostering partnerships with local food banks and community resources to optimize supply chain efficiency.

The role demands meticulous attention to sanitary and safety protocols to uphold a clean and safe kitchen environment. Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated cooking ability
  • two years of paid food service experience including one year with administrative responsibilities
  • ability to organize and manage food service operations within budget guidelines
  • physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to comply with health and safety regulations
  • willingness to work flexible hours and shifts
  • valid driver’s license for occasional driving
  • ability to meet sanitation standards
  • strong communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • At least two years of paid food service experience
  • minimum one year of food service experience with administrative duties such as food ordering and budget management
  • demonstrated ability to cook and organize food service operations
  • knowledge of health and safety standards
  • experience with equipment operations and repair
  • ability to work flexible split shifts
  • good recordkeeping skills

Job Duties
