The Cook position at Farraddays, under the Caesars Entertainment umbrella in Pompano Beach, Florida, is a vital role responsible for delivering high-quality food preparation and guest service in a bustling environment. This is an on-site position requiring the candidate to handle high-volume customer interactions with an enthusiastic, outgoing, and cheerful demeanor. The Cook builds strong guest relations by ensuring that every customer feels welcomed and comfortable, inviting them back for future visits. The role requires proficiency in operating various kitchen equipment such as slicers, steamers, deep fryers, ovens, broilers, grills, mixers, kettles, braisers, flat tops, and knives while preparing food items accurately according to established recipes and measurements.
Additional responsibilities include preparing hot and cold sauces, maintaining consistent product delivery, and ensuring the cleanliness and optimal organization of the work station before, during, and after shifts. The Cook actively collaborates with the team to cook, dish-up, and assemble food orders efficiently, performs side work including restocking supplies, and adheres strictly to food cost control procedures and quality standards. Providing leadership by guiding and instructing subordinate team members is also expected, alongside strictly following health codes and hygiene practices.
The role involves comprehensive knowledge of the casino's promotional events and activities, offering assistance as needed to enhance guest experiences. It also requires maintaining a spotless environment, resolving routine customer complaints respectfully, and flexibility to work varying shifts, including late nights, weekends, and holidays. The physical demands of this role include the ability to lift and carry objects up to 35 pounds, push and pull up to 50 pounds, and endure long periods of standing and walking, sometimes on stairs.
Candidates for this position must be at least 21 years old, have proficiency in English, and are expected to demonstrate knowledge of safe and sanitary food-handling practices, as well as various cooking methods such as roasting, frying, sautéing, and grilling. Education such as a high school diploma or GED is preferred. Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Proficient with char broiler, pizza oven, sauté station, wok station, flat top grill, commercial steamer, steam table, steam jacket kettle, deep fryer, broaster, slicer, convection oven, pots and pans, miscellaneous cutlery, tub cart, trash compactor, garbage disposal, dishwasher and sanitizer, cleaning materials, wet mops, brooms, telephone and desktop computer
- Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 35 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and kneel repetitively
- Safely work with provided cleaning chemical and equipment
- Ascend and descend stairs and maintain equilibrium for an extended period
- Must be able to work from a standing position and/or walking motion for extended period
- Ability to work in a smoking and pet-friendly environment
- Required to be able to taste and smell food items to ensure quality and flavor levels
Job Qualifications
- Proficient in English verbal and written
- Knowledge of principles and processes of safe and sanitary food-handling practices and for providing customer and personal services
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, such as roasting, frying, sautéing and grilling
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred
- Ability to work effectively and courteously with fellow employees
- Ability to provide clear direction, instruction, and guidance to subordinates

- Operate all necessary kitchen equipment including, but not limited to, slicer, steamer, deep fryer, oven, broiler, grill, mixer, kettle, braiser, flat top and knives
- Accurately prepare all food items according to established measurements and recipes
- Prepare hot and cold sauces
- Ensure consistent product delivery to the customer
