Job Description
Join us at a mission-driven, non-profit organization dedicated to providing the highest level of care in our communities. We value, recognize, and reward the vital work our team members perform each day. Our establishment is focused not only on delivering superior service but also on creating a supportive environment where team members are surrounded by strong leadership and camaraderie that supports every aspect of their lives, both inside and outside our centers. We are proud to foster a culture centered on compassion, service, and excellence.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Food Service Associate to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring that our food services operate smoothly and meet the specific dietary needs of our clients, particularly the elderly. The ideal candidate will be involved in preparing a variety of meals according to menus crafted by professional dieticians and will operate various kitchen equipment to facilitate food preparation. As part of a team, the Food Service Associate maintains cleanliness in the kitchen and ensures compliance with infection control policies to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
In this position, you will work with institutional-sized cookware to create meals appropriate for large-scale service and specific dietary requirements such as therapeutic diets and other specialized nutritional plans. Your responsibilities will include monitoring portion control during meal service, assisting in food service lines, processing diet changes, and ensuring timely meal preparation and delivery. This role demands attention to detail, efficient pace of working, and the ability to follow standardized recipes and menu substitutions carefully.
The Food Service Associate also helps maintain inventory by checking stock and properly storing supplies and leftovers. The role requires following stringent procedures for cleaning kitchen equipment and using appropriate serving methods. The individual must be capable of recording temperatures for freezers, refrigerators, dishwasher, and sinks to comply with health and safety standards. Effective communication skills are essential, as the associate will interact with colleagues, patients, family members, and visitors, providing a warm and friendly experience while addressing concerns professionally.
We welcome candidates who have a high school diploma or equivalent and possess basic computer skills with applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. The ability to understand safety rules, operate kitchen tools properly, and apply common sense reasoning is critical to success in this role. While no supervisory responsibilities are required, the candidate must adhere to all safety and operational protocols established by the organization.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a respected system known for its servant leadership and collaborative team culture. If you are passionate about food service and eager to work in an environment that emphasizes quality, teamwork, and community impact, this is the right place for you.
