Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in food preparation or related field
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- Ability to interact positively with students, parents, and staff
- Ability to follow specific recipes and portion guidelines
- Physical capability to perform kitchen duties including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Ability to operate dishwashing machinery
- Willingness to report unsafe conditions and follow school guidelines
Job Qualifications
- Experience in working with food preparation

- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Job Duties
- Maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen
- Assist in checking food shipments into the school
- Assist in determining the size of servings to meet age and state requirements
- Assist in preparing and serving food according to planned menu and tested recipes
- Assist in serving students and staff as time permits
- Assist in daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment and washing/sterilizing dishes, silverware, and utensils
- Remove used dishes and assist in cleaning counters, tables, carts, and furnishings in dining and serving areas
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized cooler, freezer, and store room
- Assist in serving and collecting payment for student and staff breakfast, lunch, and ala carte purchases
- Maintain trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion
- Operate the dishwashing machine including soap loading
- Perform daily and weekly cleaning of all dishwashing equipment
- Report all injuries to immediate supervisor and fill out appropriate forms
- Report hazardous or unsafe situations to immediate supervisor and fill out necessary forms
- Conform to all school rules and regulations and comply with laws related to employee duties
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Food Service Director or Building Principal
