You will engage in a variety of kitchen tasks such as preparing ingredients by measuring, weighing, chopping, and mixing; utilizing different cooking techniques like baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming; and operating kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers. You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitization of your workstations, equipment, and utensils to uphold food safety standards. Maintaining excellent customer service and a positive attitude will also be fundamental parts of your daily responsibilities.

This role may involve physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniforms may be required to ensure your safety and hygiene standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience as a cook or in a related role
  • knowledge of food safety regulations and safe food handling practices
  • ability to acquire food safety certification
  • basic math skills
  • good communication skills
  • physical ability to perform duties including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and prolonged standing or walking
  • willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment as required

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • safely use a variety of utensils including knives
  • operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
  • bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
  • properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers
  • adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • ensure security of company assets
