This hiring opportunity is for a seasonal Cook position based at Climate Pledge Arena. As a Cook, you’ll be at the heart of the culinary operations, actively involved in preparing food items according to established recipe standards, ensuring quality, portion control, and compliance with health and safety regulations. This role requires someone who is passionate about culinary arts and values teamwork and creativity in a fast-paced arena kitchen setting. Cooks will operate kitchen equipment, maintain organized and sanitary workstations, and control waste while contributing to the overall culinary excellence that Delaware North prides itself on. The position offers hourly pay of $27.40 and includes benefits ranging from weekly pay and employee discounts to eligibility for health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plans with company match, paid vacation, and more for eligible employees. Work shifts include evenings, weekends, and days, requiring stamina and manual skills like chopping, blending, and mixing, as well as the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more
  • Ability to reach up to seven feet, bend, and squat
  • Standing and walking for the entire length of shift in moderate to high noise levels
  • Manual ability to chop, mix, blend, whip a variety of foods and liquids and operate kitchen equipment
  • Exposed to variable temperatures

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of previous experience in a back-of-the-house foodservice position
  • Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes
  • Basic math skills with the ability to calculate and follow recipe measurements

Job Duties

  • Prepare food to comply with portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure proper food temperatures are maintained
  • Store food correctly and verify freshness and quality of menu items
  • Package products to proper specifications
  • Keep workstation, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
  • Use waste control guidelines and record all waste on the spoilage sheet
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties and end-of-day inventory according to guidelines
