Delaware North Sportservice is currently hiring seasonal Cooks at Climate Pledge Arena. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be a visible leader within a kitchen environment that supports culinary creativity and talent development. The position involves reviewing menus, preparing food according to quality and safety standards, operating kitchen equipment, and adhering strictly to health codes and sanitation regulations. The Cook will prepare and package food items ensuring proper portion sizes and quality standards are met. They will maintain the cleanliness and organization of workstations, coolers, and kitchen equipment, control waste following company guidelines, and perform opening and closing duties including inventory management. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more, reach up to seven feet, bend, and squat
  • Standing and walking for the entire length of shift in moderate to high noise levels
  • Manual ability to chop, mix, blend, whip a variety of foods and liquids and operate kitchen equipment
  • Exposed to variable temperatures

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of previous experience in a back-of-the-house foodservice position
  • Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes
  • Basic math skills, with the ability to calculate and follow recipe measurements

Job Duties

  • Prepare food to comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures, ensuring proper food temperatures are maintained, food is stored correctly, the freshness and quality of all menu items are maintained, and packages all products to proper specifications
  • Keep workstation, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
  • Use waste control guidelines and record all waste on the spoilage sheet
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties and end-of-day inventory in accordance with guidelines
