Located at the Moffitt Child Development Center, Bright Horizons is currently seeking a dedicated Cook. This full-time Cook role focuses on a warming kitchen environment where the preparation involves portioning meals, serving food, and managing sanitation and food restrictions to ensure safety and compliance with nutritional guidelines. The position operates from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, with a 30-minute daily lunch break, offering an hourly wage between $15.00 and $17.00 along with a robust benefits package.
The Cook at Bright Horizons plays a crucial role in supporting the children by preparing nutritious, family-style meals that fuel growing minds and bodies. The cook is responsible for following approved menus and nutritional guidelines, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, managing inventory, and coordinating with center staff to ensure smooth meal service. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to food safety regulations, and the ability to manage food allergies and dietary restrictions. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service within childcare, educational, or commercial kitchen settings and hold or obtain food handler certification.

Employees are supported with opportunities for career development, including access to free college degrees and certification programs. The physical demands of the job include lifting supplies, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive kitchen tasks, all undertaken in a manner that ensures the safety of the children and staff. The company complies fully with all federal, state, and local laws concerning health and safety and accommodates employees with disabilities or pregnancy-related limitations.
