Operating equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers is an essential part of the role, as is demonstrating proficiency in various cooking methods including baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, and more.

The role also extends to food presentation, where you will arrange, garnish, and portion food consistent with established guidelines. Proper storage of food items in accordance with food safety policies and procedures is crucial to maintaining quality and compliance. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout your work area, equipment, and utensils is mandatory, alongside adhering to Aramark’s safety policies.

Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
  • ability to acquire food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • good interpersonal communication skills
  • ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods
  • willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • must be able to acquire food safety certification
