Job Requirements

  • Current San Diego County food handler's card
  • Prior experience working as a line or prep cook
  • Ability to communicate professionally with team members
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to follow directions and safety procedures
  • Timeliness and reliability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high heat and noisy kitchen environment
  • Physical ability to stand constantly, lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience as line cook or prep cook
  • Ability to memorize menu items quickly
  • Strong communication skills
  • Current San Diego County food handler's card
  • Knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling practices
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Work closely and professionally with other cooks, bartenders, barbacks, cashiers and runners
  • Prep and cook (grill, fry, deep-fry, saute, toast or bake) regular and special menu items
  • Change out fryer grease
  • Prep adequate quantities of ingredients for upcoming shifts
  • Maintain clean and sanitary kitchen work areas
  • Deep clean the kitchen and kitchen equipment as directed
  • Receive deliveries
  • Stock food and non-food supplies
  • Wash dishes, pots and pans and utensils
  • Open or close the kitchen
