Job Description
Eastcastle Place is a distinguished senior living and health services facility located in a vibrant community setting. With over 140 years of dedicated service, the establishment champions a continuum of care that empowers seniors to lead active, fulfilling lives while upholding their dignity and independence. The organization is proud of its long-standing heritage and commitment to delivering compassionate care with integrity and respect. Eastcastle Place operates a comprehensive hospitality program that includes an in-house restaurant called The Gillman, which caters to 100-150 independent living residents. Beyond the main dining venue, the culinary team also manages four satellite kitchens supplying meals to residents living in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Long-Term Care, and Skilled Rehabilitation units. This multi-faceted approach to dining ensures that residents across different care levels receive nutritious and appetizing meals tailored to their unique dietary requirements. As a Cook at Eastcastle Place, you will be an integral member of a dynamic culinary team working collaboratively with fellow cooks, sous chefs, executive chefs, and dishwashers. The role is full-time and offers a competitive hourly wage starting at $19.00, which is negotiable based on experience, along with a $1,000 sign-on bonus. Scheduled for 40 hours weekly, your shifts typically run from 11:30 am to 8:00 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with every other weekend including Saturday and Sunday shifts aligning with residents’ meal times. The position is non-exempt, reflecting the hands-on and active nature of the work. In this role, your culinary expertise and attention to detail will be essential to preparing a wide variety of dishes—soups, stocks, sauces, roasts, sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed, and baked items—ensuring that all meals meet standardized recipes and dietary guidelines. You will be responsible for planning food production to align with meal service hours, maintaining high standards of food quality, temperature, and appearance. Furthermore, you will help maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the kitchen environment, contributing to an effective, efficient workflow. Your direct supervisors will be the Executive Chef and Director of Hospitality, under whose guidance you will support the mission of Eastcastle Place to nurture both the body and soul of every resident through exceptional dining experiences. This is an opportunity for culinary professionals passionate about delivering excellent food services in a healthcare environment that values respect, dignity, and community impact. If you enjoy working in fast-paced, team-focused settings and want to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of seniors, this role offers a fulfilling career path with ongoing support and growth opportunities. Eastcastle Place also emphasizes excellence, collaboration, and passion as core values guiding all its operations, creating a workplace culture that encourages personal and professional development while serving the community. Joining Eastcastle Place means becoming part of a compassionate team dedicated to enhancing quality of life for seniors through outstanding hospitality and care.
