We are currently seeking a full-time Chef de Cuisine to join our culinary team at Spring Hills Lake Mary. This pivotal role involves both the hands-on preparation of meals and a leadership position within the kitchen. The Chef de Cuisine will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring that every dish served meets the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation. Working closely with the Executive Chef, this role will contribute to menu planning, monitor food quality, manage food and labor costs, and maintain a sanitary and organized kitchen environment. This position is ideal for a culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced setting and who is passionate about crafting exceptional dining experiences for seniors.

As a Chef de Cuisine, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals that not only satisfy the nutritional requirements of senior living residents but also delight their palates. You will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and implementing effective kitchen practices that promote efficiency and food safety. The role demands strong leadership skills to train and support kitchen staff, maintain service excellence, and foster a collaborative team culture. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • ServSafe Certification required
  • Minimum of 3+ years of culinary experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Frequent use of hands for food preparation and kitchen tasks
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly and heavier items occasionally
  • Ability to bend, reach, and perform various kitchen movements as needed

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • SNF/ALF experience preferred
  • ServSafe Certification required
  • Minimum of 3+ years of culinary experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and dietary requirements
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Frequent use of hands for food preparation and kitchen tasks
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly and heavier items occasionally

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve nutritious, appetizing meals that meet residents' dietary needs, preferences, and prescribed diets
  • Follow established menus, recipes, and portion guidelines while maintaining consistency and presentation standards
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning, service flow, and resident feedback
  • Support daily kitchen operations to ensure all meals are prepared and served on time
  • Train and guide kitchen staff on proper food preparation, safety, and service standards
  • Keep your workstation organized and ready for each meal service
  • Ensure all food is handled, stored, and prepared in compliance with health and sanitation regulations
