Job Description

Embark Hurricane is a residential treatment center specializing in the stabilization and assessment of highly acute adolescent boys ages 12 to 17 and their families. Located in Hurricane, Utah, Embark provides comprehensive therapeutic programs aimed at supporting adolescents through their most challenging times. The facility focuses on creating a safe, supportive environment that fosters healing, growth, and positive development for its clients. Embark is dedicated to offering services that address the unique psychological and emotional needs of these adolescents, and its team members play a crucial role in sustaining the nurturing atmosphere necessary for successful treatment outcomes.

The Part-Time Cook position at Embark Hurricane offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about cooking independently and desire to serve small personalized groups. The role entails preparing meals and snacks for both clients and staff, contributing directly to the wellness and comfort of the residents in the program. This position is ideal for skilled cooks who enjoy autonomy in the kitchen and want to make a meaningful impact through their culinary talents. Working in a therapeutic residential setting provides a unique chance to align cooking skills with a purpose behind the food prepared, emphasizing nutrition, care, and adaptation to the special dietary needs of adolescent boys undergoing treatment.

Compensation for this role ranges from $15.00 to $20.00 per hour, with shifts of 5 or 8 hours available daily, allowing flexibility for part-time or on-call employment. This flexible scheduling supports a work-life balance while still contributing significantly to the daily operations of the residential treatment center. As a cook at Embark Hurricane, you will be responsible for preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner, and mid-meal snacks during your shifts. You will also assist with food storage, ensure the cleanliness and safety of the kitchen, and prepare food ahead for the following day's menu.

This position requires a minimum of two years of cooking experience and mandates a valid Food Handler's Permit and Driver's License. Knowledge of health codes and proper sanitation is critical to maintain the high standards expected at the facility. Candidates who are independent, motivated, and have a servant's heart are sought to join the team, as the role extends beyond mere cooking to embodying a commitment to the therapeutic mission of Embark Hurricane. The organization is an equal opportunity employer, welcoming diversity and dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace where every employee can thrive and contribute.
