Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1-2 years of cooking experience
- Knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
- Ability to follow recipes and meal plans
- Understanding of food safety regulations
- Strong time-management skills
- Effective communication skills
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines including special diets such as low-sodium and gluten-free
- Ensure food is cooked properly and attractively presented to meet quality standards and resident preferences
- Follow portion control standards ensuring appropriate quantities for each meal service
- Follow food safety guidelines to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen including sanitizing surfaces and equipment
- Store food properly and monitor inventory to prevent waste and expiration
- Accommodate special dietary needs and preferences ensuring medical and nutritional compliance
- Work closely with dietary team to ensure meals are prepared on time and meet all dietary requirements
- Assist with menu planning and suggest meal ideas aligned with nutritional needs
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service and maintain smooth kitchen operations
- Monitor food supplies and assist in ordering and receiving food and kitchen supplies
- Reduce waste by using ingredients efficiently following portion control guidelines
