The company currently seeks to hire a Cook who will play a vital role in enhancing residents' dining experiences. The Cook position involves preparing and serving high-quality, nutritious meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents and guests. This role is not just about food preparation; it is about contributing to the overall well-being and satisfaction of those who live and visit the community. The cook will work alongside the Dining Director and Executive Chef to ensure that every meal is delicious, safe, and prepared according to health and sanitation standards.

In this role, the Cook will be responsible for following written recipes precisely, assisting in menu development, and managing kitchen inventory. The Cook must maintain a clean and sanitary work environment helping with equipment cleaning and timely dishwashing. Flexibility and accommodation towards residents' needs are essential qualities for this role, as the Cook will often interact with guests and other team members. Part-time hours are available, primarily day shifts, providing flexibility for the right candidate.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous kitchen or cooking experience
  • Sanitation certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
  • Ability to work day shifts
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude

Job Qualifications

  • Must have previous kitchen experience
  • Sanitation Certified (ServSafe) or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
  • Must be flexible and accommodating to residents and guests
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
  • Must have a solid work ethic, positive attitude, and be a good team player

Job Duties

  • Follows written recipes and prepares high quality, delicious, and nutritious menu options
  • Assists in developing menus and special meals, following a daily prep list
  • Helps the Dining Director/Executive Chef with inventory and ordering
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary working environment, including cleaning equipment and timely attention to dirty dishes
  • Assists with various cooking methods including baking, frying, cold salad prep, sauteing, and general short order cooking
