Job Description

LakeHouse Senior Living is a distinguished member of the Discovery Senior Living family of operating companies, dedicated to managing care- and lifestyle-focused senior living communities across multiple states including Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan. This network of communities is committed to offering quality senior living experiences through comprehensive services that prioritize the well-being, independence, and dignity of each resident. The company prides itself on its "Pillars of Excellence," a foundational ethos that drives the superior care and service LakeHouse provides, ensuring residents feel valued, engaged, and supported in their environments. With thousands of team members employed, LakeHouse cultivates a positive and inclusive workplace culture that recognizes and celebrates the essential contributions of each employee in delivering excellent resident care.

The role in question is centered around food service within these senior living communities, specifically focusing on the preparation and presentation of nutritious and appealing meals. This position calls for a culinary professional who is proficient in preparing a variety of hot and cold menu items, utilizing stations such as the grill, saute station, salad bar, and the service line. Attention to detail is critical in this role, ensuring the accurate portioning and serving of foods in alignment with standardized recipes and menu cycles to consistently meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents.

A key aspect of the job is quality control, where the individual must taste and prepare food to confirm its quality and palatability before serving to residents. This responsibility highlights the importance of food safety, proper production methods, and an organized approach to food handling. Candidates with prior experience in senior living environments are preferred, but not mandatory, provided they possess strong communication skills, organizational capabilities, and an earnest commitment to detail and food presentation.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the daily lives of seniors by ensuring they receive well-prepared and appetizing meals that support their health and satisfaction. LakeHouse Senior Living supports its employees with competitive salaries and an attractive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, paid time off, paid holidays, a 401(k) plan with company match, an Employee Assistance Program, and accident insurance policies. The role also requires flexibility, particularly the ability to work weekends, reflecting the continuous nature of care within senior living communities.

Joining LakeHouse Senior Living means becoming part of a vibrant team that values dedication, teamwork, and the pursuit of excellence in providing compassionate support to seniors during a significant phase of their lives. Team members are not just employees; they are integral to creating a warm, safe, and engaging atmosphere where residents can thrive and enjoy their community to the fullest.
