Lifepoint Health operates 63 community hospital campuses, 32 rehabilitation and behavioral health hospitals, and over 170 additional sites of care, including acute rehabilitation units, outpatient centers, and post-acute care facilities. This network spans 29 states and is guided by the mission of improving community health. At Sycamore Springs, people are the passion and purpose, and the organization strives to support a diverse and dedicated workforce focused on delivering quality and scalable healthcare services. With a commitment to empowering employees, Sycamore Springs fosters a workplace where every team member's experience and contribution matter deeply from their first day to their ongoing career milestones.

The role of Cook at Sycamore Springs is integral to the patient care experience. This position is responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking food for hospital patients, staff, and visitors, with an emphasis on high standards of food safety and quality. Serving as a lead within the kitchen department, the cook ensures that meals are prepared according to established dietary guidelines and schedules. The position requires coordination with Registered Dietitians to accommodate modified diets, and oversight of Nutritional Services workers during food preparation. This role is vital in maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment that adheres strictly to infection control policies and procedures. Cooks at Sycamore Springs operate various kitchen equipment such as blenders, mixers, grinders, and slicers to create a variety of dishes including sauces, soups, stews, casseroles, and desserts while cooking meats, fish, and poultry using diverse methods like baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming.

In addition to supporting the nutrition and dietary needs of patients and staff, the cook plays a part in the broader healthcare mission of Sycamore Springs by contributing to an atmosphere that prioritizes health, healing, and dignity. The hospital values candidates with prior food service or customer service experience, cooking knowledge, and preferred healthcare experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of an inclusive, diverse team are key components of success in this role.

Sycamore Springs offers a competitive employment package with benefits tailored to full-time employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K plans, paid time off, and an Employee Assistance Program that supports mental, physical, and financial wellness. Additionally, tuition reimbursement or assistance is available to qualifying applicants, highlighting a commitment to ongoing employee development and growth. The hospital is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer, welcoming diversity and committed to creating a respectful and inclusive work environment. This position is full-time and offers an opportunity to be part of a respected healthcare provider focused on making a meaningful difference in patient care and community wellness.
