Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a well-established leader in the fast-casual Asian dining industry, renowned for its commitment to quality and community. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Restaurant Group has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept with nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering a work environment grounded in family values, inclusivity, and opportunity for growth. The organization is dedicated to creating a workplace where employees are inspired to better their lives both personally and professionally, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, respect, and cultural heritage.

As a Cook at Panda, you will play a crucial leadership role within the kitchen team, being the heart and soul of their culinary operations. You are entrusted with preparing high-quality food with passion, serving guests with genuine care, and creating an inviting ambiance that reflects the brand’s vibrant culture. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments and have a strong desire to contribute to an organization where people and culture matter deeply. Panda offers competitive wages ranging from $19 to $22 per hour, depending on experience and location, alongside a range of flexible schedules and career development opportunities.

The Cook’s responsibilities extend beyond food preparation to guiding and training support staff, ensuring all dishes meet company recipe and safety standards, and maintaining all back-of-house functions. This position also demands the ability to manage a dynamic environment, quickly adapting to changing priorities while sustaining consistency and accuracy in food quality. Panda’s kitchens can be physically demanding, requiring considerable standing time, short bursts of lifting, and the use of traditional cooking tools such as Chinese cook knives. However, the role offers numerous rewards, including free meals during shifts, opportunities for career progression into management roles, and comprehensive training programs designed to nurture leadership and culinary skills.

Panda Restaurant Group is committed to equal employment opportunities, embracing diversity and ensuring inclusivity across all facets of employment. They provide reasonable accommodations in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), ensuring that all applicants have equitable access to the hiring process and workplace. This focus on fairness, employee well-being, and growth makes Panda an excellent employer for those seeking a meaningful career in the restaurant industry.
