The role of Cook at this restaurant involves a comprehensive set of responsibilities centered on preparing, cooking, and packaging food products according to established operational and quality guidelines. Reporting directly to the Manager on Duty (MOD), the cook plays a critical role in ensuring that food items meet the restaurant's high standards of taste, appearance, and safety. The cook is also responsible for operating various kitchen stations, including dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food preparation areas, depending on daily assignments. This position requires adherence to rigorous cleanliness and sanitation standards, including routine cleaning tasks such as mopping, sweeping, dishwashing, and sanitizing all food preparation and cooking equipment. Additionally, the cook must manage the proper disposal of trash and used grease to maintain a hygienic and safe kitchen environment.
In addition to cooking and cleaning duties, the cook is expected to maintain regular attendance and participate actively in the team environment. The role includes responding appropriately to customer and employee issues by reporting them to the Manager on Duty and may also involve moving and stocking food products weighing up to 50 pounds. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to learn and grow within the food service industry, demanding a commitment to quality and operational excellence. The work environment is physically demanding, involving continuous standing, bending, reaching, moving, stooping, stretching, and lifting within a fast-paced restaurant setting. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous cooking or food preparation experience preferred
- ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- physical ability to stand, bend, reach, move, stoop, stretch, and lift up to 50 pounds
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties
- Cook, prepare, and package food product pursuant to operational and quality standards
- operate dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food prep stations as assigned
- comply with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards
- perform regular cleaning and sanitation duties including trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and emptying used grease pursuant to operational standards
- regular attendance
- report customer or employee complaints or issues to MOD
- move and stock food product weighing up to 50 pounds
- perform other job-related duties as assigned or required
