As a Cook at Aramark, you will be at the heart of the culinary operation, responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes using fresh ingredients and standardized recipes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be creative and experiment with different cuisines, flavors, and cooking techniques while adhering to strict food safety and production guidelines. This is an hourly position, with the hourly wage ranging from $19.00 to $22.00 depending on experience and location. In your role as a Cook, you will ensure that each meal is prepared to the highest standards, focusing on quality, safety, and presentation. You will work efficiently to set up your workstation, measure and prepare ingredients, and use various cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming to produce delicious meals. Maintaining a clean and sanitized work area, following safety protocols, and providing excellent customer service are critical components of the job.

Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations
  • must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and/or walk and stand for extended periods
  • willingness to wear uniforms and/or personal protective equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required

  • must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
  • properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • ensures security of company assets
