Job Description

Our establishment is a reputable restaurant renowned for serving high-quality food in a fast-paced environment. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent customer service while maintaining rigorous food safety and preparation standards. We are currently seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team on a part-time basis. As a vital member of our kitchen staff, the Cook plays an essential role in preparing, cooking, and packaging food products in accordance with operational and quality standards. This position reports directly to the Manager on Duty (MOD) and is classified as a nonexempt status.

The Cook's responsibilities include operating various food preparation stations such as the dresser, front swamp, back swamp, and grill. The role requires strict adherence to company policies, procedures, and operational standards. In addition to cooking duties, the role involves performing regular cleaning and sanitation tasks to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment. This includes trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and managing waste such as emptying grease containers. Because this is a physically demanding role, regular attendance and punctuality are critical. The work environment entails continuous standing, bending, reaching, moving, stooping, stretching, and lifting within the restaurant setting. The Cook will often be exposed to heat and hot liquids during cooking processes, exposure to freezer environments when stocking food products, and occasionally to extreme outdoor temperatures based on weather conditions.

The position requires flexibility to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. This flexibility is vital to meet the operational needs of the restaurant during peak times. The restaurant environment demands teamwork, effective communication, and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will have basic math and reading skills, the ability to follow directions accurately, and multitasking skills to manage various tasks efficiently. General knowledge of restaurant or retail operations will be advantageous. Job Duties

  • Cook prepare and package food product pursuant to operational and quality standards
  • operate dresser front swamp back swamp grill and food prep stations as assigned
  • comply with all company policies procedures and operational standards
  • perform regular cleaning and sanitation duties including trash disposal mopping sweeping washing dishes and food preparation tools wiping counters sanitizing food preparation areas cleaning equipment and emptying used grease pursuant to operational standards
  • report customer or employee complaints issues to MOD
  • move and stock food product weighing up to 50 pounds
