As a Cook at Brookdale Senior Living in Amarillo, TX, you will play a vital role in delivering nutritious and delicious meals that meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This full-time position offers competitive pay ranging from $14.53 to $18.17 per hour, depending on your skills and experience. You will work in a dynamic environment where your culinary talents contribute directly to the well-being and joy of our senior residents. The role includes adherence to stringent food preparation protocols, portion control, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen. As a key member of our dining services team, you will have opportunities to advance into leadership roles such as Lead Cook, Sous Chef, or Dining Services Manager.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a cook or in food preparation
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen sanitation
- Ability to handle kitchen equipment and tools safely
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to work full time
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to follow company policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Prior cooking experience in a professional kitchen preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion controls

Job Duties
- Ensures proper preparation, portioning and serving of food according to standardized recipes and menus
- Uses cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware safely and effectively
- Applies knowledge of cooking procedures such as grilling, baking, and boiling
- Adheres to all sanitation and food safety standards
- Maintains a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Prepares food in a timely manner at specified meal times
- Collaborates with dining services team to support smooth kitchen operations
