The role of a Cook at Trilogy is a vital position centered around preparing and serving high-quality meals that support the health and well-being of residents. This role requires an individual who can create fresh, scratch-made meals in accordance with planned menus and dietary guidelines, ensuring that all food preparation complies with established safety and sanitation standards. Beyond meal preparation, the Cook also plays a supporting role in the food service operations by assisting the Food Service Manager with inventory control and ordering supplies, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, and supervising dietary staff when necessary. This position involves setting up meal service stations such as breakfast bars and steam tables, stocking snacks and standard pantry items, and utilizing technology and computerized systems to enhance the dining experience for residents and families. Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • minimum of 1-2 years cooking experience preferred
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation standards
  • strong teamwork and communication skills
  • ability to use computerized systems and technology in kitchen operations
  • physical ability to perform kitchen duties including standing for long periods
  • flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare fresh scratch-made meals using recipes according to planned menus and dietary guidelines
  • assist the Food Service Manager with inventory control and ordering supplies
  • properly store food and kitchen supplies to maintain freshness and prevent waste
  • supervise and support dietary staff when the Food Service Manager is unavailable
  • set up breakfast bars, steam tables, and other meal service stations
  • maintain cleanliness in work areas and ensure all kitchen cleaning tasks are completed
  • prepare and stock snacks and standard pantry items for resident areas
  • utilize technology and computerized systems to create a great dining experience for residents and families
