Job Description

The current role available is that of a Cook on a per diem basis located at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA. This position plays a vital part in supporting the hospital’s food service operations by preparing a variety of foods including short-order, made-to-order, and Garde Manger items. The cook will engage in scratch cooking tasks such as preparing soups, stews, chowders, and chili, ensuring the food meets the highest quality standards in taste, temperature, and presentation. The role requires maintaining accurate production records and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of refrigerators and freezers. The Cook will work a flexible schedule covering day and evening shifts with weekend and holiday rotations, contributing to the overall nourishment and satisfaction of patients, staff, and visitors. This role reports directly to the Manager of Food Production or a designee. Job Requirements
- Completion of four years of high school or equivalent
- minimum two years culinary experience
- institutional experience preferred
- ability to pass Southcoast written culinary exam
- Serv Safe Certification required within 60 days of hire
- fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID 19 or exempt with certification
- flexible availability to work day/evening shifts including weekends and holidays
- must meet physical demands of food preparation environment

Job Duties
