Job Requirements

  • Completion of four years of high school or equivalent
  • minimum two years culinary experience
  • institutional experience preferred
  • ability to pass Southcoast written culinary exam
  • Serv Safe Certification required within 60 days of hire
  • fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID 19 or exempt with certification
  • flexible availability to work day/evening shifts including weekends and holidays
  • must meet physical demands of food preparation environment

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare short-order foods
  • prepare made-to-order foods
  • prepare Garde Manger items
  • cook soups, stews, chowders, and chili from scratch
  • monitor food quality, temperature, and flavor
  • correct food issues by tasting, portioning, and visual inspection
  • extend recipes to ensure proper yields and control meal costs
  • keep production and temperature records
  • maintain refrigerators and freezers clean and organized
  • follow sanitation guidelines
  • perform other reasonable duties as assigned
