The role requires collaboration with other Food Services team members to ensure the kitchen operates smoothly, efficiently, and safely, all while abiding by the community’s policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will bring culinary expertise, particularly in institutional or full-service restaurant cooking, backed by practical experience or educational credentials in Culinary Arts.

This position demands a high level of attention to detail, from following specific recipes and production worksheets to maintaining sanitation standards and food safety protocols. The CookSupervisor ensures all meals are served in an appealing manner and that food storage and labeling strictly follow community guidelines. The role also involves maintaining temperature logs, cleanliness, and assisting in special functions when necessary. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential to engage effectively with staff and residents, resolving food-related concerns promptly with professionalism.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently while maintaining excellent customer service and organizational skills, adhering to deadlines, and fostering a positive and respectful work environment. The role requires compliance with state and company regulations, including criminal record clearances and health screenings, ensuring food handlers’ permits and certifications are up to date. Beyond food preparation, the CookSupervisor represents Sunshine Retirement Living as a courteous and professional team member, following dress codes and confidentiality standards.

Physically, this position involves standing, walking, and lifting weights up to 100 pounds regularly, with tasks requiring fine motor skills and the ability to work under time constraints. The Community provides reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities, supporting an inclusive workplace.

In summary, the CookSupervisor position at Sunshine Retirement Living is ideal for culinary professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality nutrition and dining experiences in a senior living setting, demonstrating leadership, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence in all facets of food service operations.
