We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate full-time Cook to join our Culinary Department under the guidance of the Executive Chef. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in preparing and executing menu items, maintaining high standards in food quality and presentation, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests. This role demands a dedicated culinary professional with at least one year of experience, including hot line expertise, who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The Cook will be responsible for daily food preparation, managing food safety and sanitation, and collaborating closely with kitchen staff to maintain consistency in taste and appearance. Candidates must be flexible, willing to work nights and weekends, and possess excellent communication skills. This position offers a competitive wage range of $30.00 to $35.00 per hour and is a non-exempt role, meaning eligibility for overtime pay.   • bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • at least one year of culinary experience
  • hot line experience
  • ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly
  • flexible availability including nights and weekends
  • proficiency in English
  • good verbal and written communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor’s degree preferably specializing in culinary arts or related major or equivalent experience
  • at least one year of related culinary experience with hospitality preferred
  • hot line experience required
  • ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary workplace language
  • good communication skills both verbal and written
  • ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly
  • effective communication in English
  • second language desirable

Job Duties

  • completes daily prep responsibilities and sets line for service
  • prepare all hot food items according to standard recipes and as specified on guest check
  • ensure consistency of product for the guest
  • check the quality of the food as it arrives in the kitchen and inform the Sous Chef of damaged product
  • properly label, date, and store all food
  • maintain work area in a safe and sanitary manner and report safety issues
  • maintain high standards of food preparation in a timely fashion while performing multi tasks
  • work closely with standard recipes and presentations to meet required food costs and obtain uniform quality
  • maintain product consistency, seasoning of food, and plate presentation
  • continuously look for ways to increase productivity
  • handle food and rotate it according to established procedures including cooking and cooling temperatures
  • utilize proper and safe knife skills
  • order food requisitions with collaboration of Sous Chef according to business
  • respect and accommodate the food server’s requests regarding guest’s personality, preference, and requests
  • maintain a full line of communication with supervisors
  • perform any other tasks as assigned by Sous Chef and assist in any area needed
