Job Description

The position we are offering is for a Cook, a role that plays a crucial part in the smooth operation of our kitchen and overall dining experience. This is a nonexempt position reporting to the Manager on Duty (MOD), with responsibilities that include cooking, preparing, and packaging food products in accordance with operational and quality standards. The Cook is expected to operate various kitchen stations such as the dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food prep stations as assigned. Attention to detail is vital, as the cook ensures that all food is prepared and packaged properly to meet our strict quality guidelines.

In addition to food preparation, the Cook is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area, ensuring that all equipment and workstations are cleaned regularly and effectively. This includes duties such as trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and handling used grease. The role requires physical endurance as it involves continuous standing, bending, reaching, moving, stooping, stretching, and lifting, often in an environment exposed to varying temperatures and other conditions associated with food service.

The Cook must be able to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, demonstrating reliability and consistent attendance. Additional responsibilities include reporting any customer or employee complaints to the Manager on Duty, moving and stocking food products up to 50 pounds, and other job-related duties as assigned. This role demands a strong team player with the ability to multitask effectively, follow directions carefully, and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

Job Duties

  • Cook, prepare, and package food product pursuant to operational and quality standards

  • Perform regular cleaning and sanitation duties including trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and emptying used grease pursuant to operational standards
  • Maintain regular attendance
  • Report customer or employee complaints or issues to Manager on Duty
  • Move and stock food product weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or required
