At Querencia at Barton Creek, every team member plays a vital role in creating a purpose-driven, resident-focused atmosphere. As a Cook on this esteemed team, you will be responsible for managing the preparation and production of a wide array of baked goods and food items that meet both standard and customized expectations. This role is essential in ensuring that residents and guests enjoy meals that are not only delicious but also beautifully presented and served at the optimal temperature. The Cook position is designed to uphold the highest standards of food safety, quality, and efficiency, contributing directly to the overall satisfaction and well-being of the community's residents.

This opportunity offers a starting pay of $20.00 per hour, with a pay range extending from $17.81 to $24.47 per hour, reflecting the value placed on skilled, dedicated team members. The shift scheduled for this role is from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, providing an excellent work-life balance for those who thrive in dynamic kitchen environments. Duties encompass mixing, baking, building, decorating, and inscribing baked goods; preparing dishes according to precise recipes; garnishing plates attractively; coordinating meal production to align with service hours; and maintaining stringent food safety and sanitation practices in compliance with local and state regulations.

Job Duties

  • manage production and prepare a wide variety of standard and custom baked goods according to recipes
  • mix, bake, build, decorate, and inscribe products in an efficient manner
  • prepare all food items per menu requirements following designated recipes
  • prepare plates and garnish food items to be served to residents and guests
  • prepare food production to coordinate with meal service hours so that quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved
  • ensure food safety by monitoring food temperatures and use proper food storage techniques in accordance with state and local standards
  • maintain work area in a safe and sanitary condition may include cleaning cooking equipment, and other areas of the kitchen as assigned
