Job Requirements
- valid Food Handlers card or ability to obtain one
- ability to work weekend shifts from 5am to 1pm
- capacity to perform moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds
- knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation practices
- prior cooking experience preferred
- ability to read and understand production orders
- commitment to maintaining kitchen cleanliness and orderliness
Job Qualifications
- current Food Handlers card or ability to obtain one
- prior cooking experience in a skilled nursing environment preferred
- knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygienic methods
- competency in operating kitchen equipment
- interpersonal skills
- ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting, bending, reaching, and stooping
Job Duties
- prepare pre-planned cycle menus in an efficient and effective manner
- perform food preparation tasks as assigned
- ability to read production orders on tray cards
- determine if the food prepared is of the highest possible quality in taste and flavor
- assist in planning cooking schedules
- confirm foods are ready on time for tray service
- maintain and improve standards of food storage, preparation, and services
- assist in checking food supplies on food order forms
- push carts to halls or kitchen
- maintain cleanliness and orderliness
