Currently, SSP America is hiring full-time Line Cooks to work in their fast-paced restaurants located inside Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX). This position offers competitive pay at $27.55 per hour along with excellent benefits including 2 weeks of paid vacation, referral bonuses, and employer coverage of 95% of benefits costs. The role of a Line Cook at SSP America involves direct participation in food preparation and kitchen operations. Candidates will be required to follow recipes precisely, manage portion control, and ensure the presentation of menu items meets company standards. Maintaining daily kitchen station setup, proper handling and storage of food products, and ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of equipment are critical aspects of this role. Line Cooks will perform opening and closing checklists, support inventory management processes such as requisition and stocking, and contribute to overall kitchen safety and sanitation. Attention to detail and commitment to food quality are paramount. The position also demands strong communication skills, basic math competency, and the ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding environment. Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • One year experience working as a line cook
  • High school diploma preferred
  • Verbal and written communication is essential
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Brand certification as required
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long period of time

Job Duties

  • Follow all recipes and practice portion control to prepare, garnish, and present ordered items
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the kitchen/station on a daily basis
  • Requisition and stock all required food, paper products, and condiments
  • Handle, store, and rotate all products properly
  • Responsible for set-up, regular maintenance, cleaning, and breakdown of any machinery and equipment
  • Maintain stock, cutting, and storage of all perishables daily to ensure product quality
  • Complete opening, ongoing, and closing checklists as required
  • Take responsibility for quality of products served
  • Perform general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards
  • Other duties as assigned
