Located within HCA Florida West Marion Hospital, Sodexo is currently seeking a full-time Cook to join their dynamic team. This position offers a competitive pay range of $18.00 to $22.00 per hour and operates on a rotating shift schedule requiring open availability. As a Cook at Sodexo, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality culinary services within a fast-paced hospital environment. Your primary responsibilities will include accurate preparation, portioning, cooking, and presentation of an assortment of hot and cold food items aligned with Sodexo's culinary standards for quality, consistency, and presentation.

Working in this role, you will maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring all food products are prepared safely and efficiently. The Cook I position supports Sodexo's mission to provide an exceptional dining experience by crafting delicious meals that meet rigorous standards for food safety and sanitation. In addition to preparing dishes for daily meal periods, the role involves adhering to federal, state, and corporate regulations about food handling and culinary operations. You will also collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to uphold an efficient workflow in a demanding environment.

Beyond the core duties, this role invites individuals who can perform physically demanding tasks such as standing or walking for extended periods, lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds, and engaging in repetitive motions. Attention to detail, the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions, and familiarity with kitchen equipment are essential to succeed in this position. Job Duties

  • Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations
  • follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs
  • taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation
  • ensure safe and efficient food preparation
  • comply with food safety and sanitation standards
  • attend work and show up for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
  • perform other duties as assigned
