Job Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English
  • Must be able to handle a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have health card or ability to obtain same
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have at least one years previous experience
  • Must have working knowledge of weights, measurements and kitchen equipment
  • Must have knowledge of determining doneness and quality of products by sight, smell, touch, and by use of thermometers
  • Must have knowledge of proper cooling and storage temperatures and techniques
  • Must be willing to work any shift when necessary including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to work in close quarters or small rooms and is occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet and/or humid condition

Job Duties

  • Cook foods according to recipes, adjusting to desired specifications of guests request
  • Measure ingredients required for specific food items being prepared
  • Plan work on orders so that items served together are finished at the same time
  • Cook the exact number of items ordered by each customer, working on several different orders simultaneously
  • Ensure that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity
  • Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils
  • Clean and sanitize all tables and cook line refrigerator
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
  • Assist chefs and line cooks with food preparation
  • Perform all other duties that may be assigned
