This role is a vital part of a diverse team comprising software engineers, hardware specialists, network engineers, security professionals, supply chain experts, and operations managers. As a Controls Engineer at AWS Infrastructure Services, you will engage with some of the most sophisticated and mission-critical systems in data center operations, specifically focusing on the Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS). Your role will be multifaceted, encompassing troubleshooting, root cause analysis, project management, and continuous optimization of these control systems. The BMS controls all mechanical systems within AWS data centers, including generators, uninterruptible power supplies, chillers, cooling towers, and air handling units. The EPMS monitors all electrical systems, ensuring power distribution and safety compliance continuously.

You will apply Amazon's leadership principles to develop innovative processes and standards, advancing the control system capabilities through new designs and operational improvements. Your tasks will involve working closely with internal teams and external vendors, managing project scopes, budgets, schedules, and ensuring quality control from procurement to commissioning. The role demands frequent hands-on site visits to operational data centers for system troubleshooting, stakeholder engagement, and vendor supervision.

This position requires stringent security clearance (Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility) due to the sensitive nature of the data center operations, and candidates must be U.S. citizens. The compensation package includes a competitive base salary range between $111,300 and $186,100 annually, along with sign-on bonuses and restricted stock units (RSUs).
