Job Description

This job opportunity is with one of Boston's leading General Contractors, a well-established company with over 60 years of experience in the commercial construction industry. The company specializes in delivering high-quality construction and construction management services, focusing primarily on design-build, general contracting, construction management, and BIM/Virtual Design and Construction. With a workforce exceeding 100 employees and an annual revenue ranging between $100 million and $150 million, this organization has built a strong reputation in the Greater Boston area, particularly within its urban core and suburban projects. Their project portfolio consists of approximately 80% urban core projects and 20% suburban projects, focusing on ground-up construction, renovations, and build-out projects valued up to $35 million.

The company predominantly serves major healthcare systems, universities, and research institutions, marking them as a key player in the healthcare, life sciences, and higher education markets. Given their strong client retention—more than 80% of revenue generated from repeat clients—the company exemplifies a commitment to quality, reliability, and long-term client relationships. They are also deeply involved in community engagement through philanthropic efforts and volunteer programs, underscoring their dedication to corporate social responsibility.

The Safety Manager role is a critical position within this established organization, responsible for developing and implementing tailored safety programs specifically for construction projects. The role demands regular site inspections to uphold compliance with relevant safety regulations, thorough identification of potential hazards with consequent recommendations for corrective actions, and the provision of safety training and guidance to both employees and contractors. Maintaining comprehensive safety records and documentation is essential, alongside collaborating with project managers to address any safety concerns promptly and effectively.

This Safety Manager will also lead accident and incident investigations, driving the implementation of preventative measures to ensure a safe working environment. Staying up-to-date with OSHA regulations and other industry safety standards is crucial to successfully fulfilling the responsibilities of this role. This position offers a competitive base salary along with an impressive benefits package featuring 100% employer-paid healthcare, monthly travel allowances, a 401K plan with company matching, paid time off, sick leave, and company holidays.

This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional with experience in the construction industry—particularly within healthcare, laboratory, or higher education projects—to join a respected, long-standing company. This position offers not only competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits but also the chance to work on exciting, impactful projects within a collaborative and community-minded environment. With a project backlog already secured through 2029, the successful candidate can look forward to long-term stability and career growth in an industry-leading company committed to safety excellence and employee well-being.
