Job Description

The Tradesmen Group LLC (TTG) is a reputable and award-winning full-service building rehabilitation and restoration company operating across the eastern half of the United States. Established in 1997, TTG has grown significantly and now boasts three regional offices strategically located across the Midwest and Southeast regions. TTG is proudly 100% employee-owned through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), fostering a culture of ownership, responsibility, and dedication among its workforce. TTG specializes in historic preservation, restoration, and rehabilitation of significant buildings and monuments, reflecting a deep commitment to maintaining the legacy of America’s architectural heritage. The company self-performs multiple trades such as masonry restoration, roofing, architectural metals, carpentry, and painting, among others, positioning itself as one of the nation’s leading federal restoration contractors.

The construction Safety Manager role at TTG is a pivotal leadership position responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel across various projects primarily located in Nashville, TN, as well as throughout TTG’s expansive operational footprint. This role demands an exceptionally organized, dependable, and self-motivated individual with a robust background in construction safety management, ideally with at least five years of supervisory experience on large commercial or governmental building projects. The Safety Manager will be charged with overseeing safety compliance across multiple concurrent projects, coordinating effectively with TTG’s self-performing multi-trade crews and subcontractor teams. While experience in historic restoration is preferred, it is not mandatory, as the company is willing to invest in the right candidate who demonstrates strong leadership and safety expertise.

Key responsibilities include partnering with TTG management and staff to uphold outstanding safety standards, drafting and preparing site-specific safety documents, and conducting thorough safety inspections that ensure 100% compliance. The role requires approximately 50% travel, involving both short-term and extended stays, to project sites spread across the eastern half of the U.S. A focus on continuous improvement of safe operating procedures, safety policies, and incentive programs is essential. The Safety Manager will also be responsible for developing and conducting relevant safety training sessions, enforcing safety protocols rigorously, and participating in detailed accident and incident reviews to identify root causes and implement corrective actions, including coordinating Worker’s Compensation matters.

This position demands meticulous management of all documentation related to TTG’s comprehensive safety program, including maintaining accurate OSHA 300 logs and ensuring compliance recordkeeping is up to date. The ideal candidate should possess OSHA 500 certification, a clean driving record, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 with the ability to generate detailed technical reports. Professionalism across all levels of stakeholder engagement is a must, alongside the ability to work autonomously while managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively. Additionally, passing a drug test and Department of Homeland Security background check for Tier 1 security clearance is required.

TTG’s commitment to fostering a safe and healthy work environment for its employees and contractors is unwavering. The company offers competitive industry compensation and benefits, including top pay within the sector, paid time off, health, dental, and vision insurance, and employee ownership equity sharing. Joining TTG means becoming part of a passionate team dedicated to working with purpose by preserving and restoring culturally and historically significant structures that define communities and the nation as a whole. Candidates ready to contribute to this meaningful mission and advance their career within a supportive and growth-oriented environment are encouraged to apply.
