The Safety Consultant role at HazTek is a critical position based primarily in the South Boston area with support extending to clients in the Greater Boston and Eastern Massachusetts regions. This role is designed for an experienced professional who will serve as a key resource in ensuring that client and project safety requirements are met with excellence. The Safety Consultant’s primary responsibility is to conduct site visits to active construction projects, performing detailed reviews of current construction activities, evaluating adherence to OSHA regulations, and providing actionable guidance to project supervisors and client personnel. The consultant is expected to maintain a positive culture of safety while identifying potential hazards or non-compliant conditions and recommending corrective actions. The consultant’s expertise will also be utilized in reviewing various health and safety programs, determining their compliance status, and advising clients accordingly.

This position demands strong technical knowledge of OSHA standards, including 29 CFR 1926, 1904, and applicable sections of 1910, alongside familiarity with current construction practices in commercial, residential, and civil sectors. The Safety Consultant will need to use specialized measurement tools to quantitatively verify compliance and effectively communicate findings both verbally and written through mobile devices. Excellent organizational skills are required to manage scheduled and unscheduled assignments, balancing travel and client meetings within a typical 40-50 hours workweek. Occasionally, the role may require working second or third shifts and travel outside a 100-mile radius, including overnight stays, to meet client needs. Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field preferred
  • BCSP credential with three to five years of relevant experience preferred
  • ability to conduct safety training sessions such as OSHA 10/30, MEWP, PIT, or fall protection
  • comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations 29 CFR 1926, 1904, and applicable 1910 sections
  • familiarity with construction practices and procedures
  • valid driver’s license
  • fluency in Spanish is a plus

Job Duties
