We are currently seeking an experienced Certified Construction Materials Special Inspector to join our expanding team in Missoula, Montana. The Certified Construction Materials Special Inspector is responsible for monitoring the materials, installation, fabrication, erection, and placement of construction components to ensure they comply with the specified project plans and specifications. The inspector evaluates construction processes and materials to verify adherence to engineering and safety standards. In addition to field inspections, the Specialist prepares detailed electronic daily reports summarizing the services performed and the calculation of test results. This documentation plays a critical role in maintaining project records and supporting quality control efforts.

This position requires expertise in various testing and inspection methods, including reinforced concrete and nuclear gauge safety protocols. The role also involves driving throughout the northern Idaho service region, requiring a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Comfort with technology, such as using tablets or other mobile devices to record field data, is essential for efficiently managing documentation and communication.

The candidate must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and superior time management skills. These competencies ensure that inspection activities are thorough, accurately reported, and completed in a timely manner. Physical demands include the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and maneuver loads up to 75 pounds with assistance, reflecting the hands-on nature of the job.
