The Conference Manager position at The Broadmoor is vital to maintaining the resort’s high standards. Job Requirements
- 3-5 years previous experience in hotel conference services, catering, or event management
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business, or related field preferred
- Proficiency in event management software
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to work irregular hours including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to stand/walk for long periods and occasionally lift/move up to 35 lbs
Job Qualifications
- 3-5 years previous experience in hotel conference services, catering, or event management
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for client interaction and internal briefings
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business, or a related field is preferred
- Proficiency in event management software, such as Delphi FDC and SocialTables
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Leadership skills that include honesty, transparency, and leading by example
- Ability to embrace feedback with self-awareness and willingness to develop
Job Duties
- Serve as a primary point of contact for conferences, meetings & social events from event contracting through post-event follow-up
- Manage / supervise all aspects of events, including the room setup, AV, décor placement, catering and guest service
- Work cohesively with the culinary, banquets, front office, and the operational team to deliver a seamless experience
- Drive revenue and exceed goals through upsells in banquets food & beverage to assigned groups
- Forecast food & beverage events for assigned groups
- Provide excellent customer service and manage customer expectations
- Build and maintain a strong relationship with clients, understanding their needs and working with them through execution of their event
- Maintain budgets, communicating to clients about estimated expenses
- Prepare and distribute event documents, such as Banquet Event Orders, Diagrams, Resume, and post-event reports
- Conduct pre-conference meetings and post-event meetings
- Lead Planning Site Visits
- Adheres to all hotel standards, policies, and procedures
