Job Description
Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance (DZCA) is a renowned nonprofit organization committed to excellence in animal care, wildlife conservation, and educational outreach. As a pivotal part of the Denver Zoo's mission, DZCA inspires communities to save wildlife for future generations by engaging and educating visitors through immersive experiences and programs. The organization is built on a foundation of core values—welcoming, curious, united, courageous, and transformative—which guide its staff in delivering excellence and integrity. Through these principles, DZCA ensures that every interaction with visitors, partners, and stakeholders fosters awe and a deep connection with animal conservation efforts.
The Concierge – Guest Experience Expert role at DZCA is integral to advancing the organization’s mission by providing exceptional, personalized guest experiences. This position functions as a visible ambassador of DZCA, playing a crucial role in connecting guests to the Zoo, its animals, and the broader conservation work it supports. By anticipating guest needs and offering intuitive, creative service, the Concierge enables visitors to enjoy a seamless and memorable experience, thus strengthening their loyalty and emotional connection to both the Zoo and the conservation cause.
The role demands a high degree of professionalism, multitasking abilities, and attention to detail, as the Concierge manages everything from guest registration for educational programs, camps, and VIP experiences, to handling inquiries and managing membership relationships. The Concierge also plays an important part in financial processes including sales transactions and cash handling. Furthermore, this position requires strong collaborative skills as it involves daily communication management, representing the organization’s integrity, and working closely with multiple Denver Zoo departments to enhance the overall guest experience.
Candidates suited for this role are ideally those with a passion for guest service excellence, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills. This dynamic, fast-paced position involves managing multiple priorities with a proactive and empathetic approach to guest engagement and service recovery. Experience in guest-facing roles, proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems, and comfort working in a high-volume environment are critical to success in this role.
Duties include managing scheduling and registration, supporting guest inquiries, resolving service issues, and promoting paid programs and memberships while maintaining high ethical standards. The position requires availability to work Sundays, holidays, and after-hours events, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to supporting the Zoo's activities.
The Concierge – Guest Experience Expert is an hourly position paying between $19.30 and $22.27, offering competitive benefits such as comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match, generous paid time off, a family DZCA membership with ticket discounts, and retail discounts with free parking. The role embodies the DZCA’s dedication to a truly wild workplace environment where diversity, learning, and community engagement are celebrated and encouraged.
Joining the Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance means becoming part of a collaborative and mission-driven team dedicated to creating inspiring moments of awe for guests while actively contributing to wildlife conservation and education. This is a prime opportunity for individuals seeking to make a meaningful impact within a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving wildlife and inspiring future generations through hands-on guest experiences and educational initiatives.
