The role of Concierge at The Barclay at Tuckahoe is a vital position focused on delivering exceptional hospitality and service to residents, their families, guests, and employees. As the first point of contact, the concierge represents the face of the community, creating memorable first impressions while ensuring that the lobby and reception areas are welcoming and organized. This position combines front desk responsibilities such as answering phones courteously, directing visitors appropriately, and maintaining security protocols with active participation in community engagement activities like assisting with events and weekend or evening programs. The concierge plays a key role in promoting a team environment and supporting various office tasks as needed. Candidates should demonstrate professionalism, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a busy, dynamic atmosphere. Job Requirements

  • Must have a caring heart willing to serve others
  • high school diploma or GED
  • two years general office experience including reception experience
  • experience working with the older adult population preferred
  • professional and polished with proper grammar skills and pleasant voice tone
  • excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management and oral/written communication skills
  • ability to work in team environment
  • must be attentive to details able to multi-task and work with multiple interruptions
  • basic knowledge with Microsoft Word preferred
  • basic knowledge with Microsoft Excel preferred
  • ability to work flexible schedules in a 24-hour operation including weekends and holidays as requested

Job Duties

  • Offer high level hospitality to all residents, guests and employees
  • fulfill front desk responsibilities including answering phones courteously and directing visitors appropriately
  • ensure lobby and front porch area is clean and free of trash
  • assist with activities conducted in the lobby near phone and front door
  • lead weekend and evening activities during less busy times
  • assist with other general office tasks upon request
