The role of Concierge at Sunrise Senior Living is essential as it forms the very first impression many visitors, potential residents, and their families receive when they enter the community. The Concierge serves as a friendly, knowledgeable, and organized point of contact who oversees the community entry area and ensures a warm welcome to all guests. This role involves managing incoming calls, handling appointment scheduling, supporting marketing initiatives, and assisting with administrative tasks. Additionally, the Concierge helps foster a pleasant and safe environment by monitoring the Bistro area and complying with community safety protocols. The position requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, multi-tasking abilities, and proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office and Sunrise-specific software. This role also supports recruitment activities by capturing candidate information and aiding the hiring process. Job Requirements

  • High school degree or GED
  • Proven customer service experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Familiarity with safety and risk management protocols
  • Commitment to team goals and service principles
  • Completion of required training and compliance with state/provincial regulations
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screenings and health evaluations
  • COVID-19 and Influenza vaccination if mandated by law.

Job Qualifications

  • High School degree or GED
  • Proven customer service experience and skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel) and Sunrise applications
  • Ability to learn new applications
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Good organizational, time management, and follow-through skills
  • Accurate record-keeping skills
  • Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Job Duties

  • Oversee the community entry area for visitors, guests, and residents, extend a warm welcome and greeting, offer and provide beverages to visitors and guests, and ensure that the community safety protocols are in place
  • Contact the Director of Sales, Executive Director, or Department Coordinator to meet with prospective residents, families, or visitors and ensure wait times are minimal
  • Greet potential candidates interested in Sunrise careers and direct them to apply online or capture their information for recruitment
  • Answer incoming telephone and resident calls promptly with appropriate greeting and identification
  • Take complete messages and communicate them to intended recipients
  • Provide community overviews to callers and forward calls appropriately
  • Manage appointments for residents and family members such as hairdresser or transportation
  • Send get well, sympathy cards and order Memory Flowers as required
  • Order flowers and name plates for new residents prior to move-in and guest meals for move-in day
  • Create and maintain marketing and move-in packet inventory
  • Support the Director of Sales with initial inquiry calls and lead tracking database entry
  • Keep desk and entry area neat and organized
  • Monitor Bistro area for cleanliness and refreshments
  • Maintain music and ensure coverage of front desk duties
  • Partner with community team to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Practice safety procedures and maintain emergency rosters and high-risk elopement lists
  • Respond to emergencies per policy
  • Maintain sign-in/sign-out logs for guests and residents
  • Update daily resident phone lists, move-in/out registers, and guest logs
  • Prepare and process meal tickets and tally sheets
  • Organize and distribute mail and newspapers
  • Post daily menu on the menu board
  • Assist with recruitment data entry and general administrative duties
  • Monitor and order office supplies
  • Track and disperse team member paychecks
  • Participate in team meetings and training
  • Demonstrate commitment to service and team goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
