The Security Officer role at Tarian is pivotal in maintaining safe and secure environments across various sites and venues. Compensation for this part-time position starts at $21 per hour, with opportunities for shift differentials that range from an additional $1 to $5 per hour. Security Officers at Tarian will carry out a wide range of duties including monitoring and authorizing the entrance and departure of employees, guests, and other persons; patrolling designated areas to ensure protection and compliance with house rules; operating metal detectors to prevent unauthorized items from entering restricted zones; and providing accommodation and assistance to guests with special needs. Officers are also expected to engage with guests courteously, relay venue information such as directions to restrooms and concession stands, and enforce safety protocols proactively.

This position involves active collaboration with team members, especially during event closures where responsibilities include collecting recyclables and properly storing event equipment like chairs and barricades. Reporting on daily activities, incidents, irregularities, equipment or property damage, and unauthorized access is essential to maintaining thorough documentation for operational and security purposes.

Work environment demands can vary significantly, ranging from fast-paced, high-pressure situations to more tranquil settings. The role requires physical stamina and mental acuity, as officers must stand or walk for entire shifts, use hands to handle objects, climb stairs, and occasionally lift objects over 25 pounds. Vision capabilities such as color recognition, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment are critical to performing duties effectively.
