The role of Concierge at Beach House Senior Living is more than just a receptionist position; it is that of an ambassador for the community. The Concierge is the first point of contact for all visitors and residents, ensuring they receive a warm, friendly, and professional reception every time they enter the facility. This position involves managing the front desk operations including greeting visitors, answering and routing telephone calls, handling mail and packages, and maintaining visitor logs and emergency contact information. Beyond these administrative tasks, the Concierge plays a vital role in assisting residents by providing timely information and support, coordinating special events and transportation, and helping manage requests related to maintenance and environmental services.

Working as a Concierge requires a high level of interpersonal skills to relate effectively to residents, visitors, and staff with diverse personalities and needs. The position demands considerable initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently. This job involves close attention to safety policies and emergency procedures, ensuring a secure environment for all. The Concierge also assists with clerical duties including typing, copying, supply management, and supporting community managers as needed.

Flexibility is key in this role as the Concierge must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, participate in community events, and potentially work extended hours. Job Duties

  • provides positive first impression to all who enter the community
  • answers and screens all incoming telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner, routing calls and taking messages as appropriate
  • greets all visitors in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner
  • screens and requires visitors to sign in at reception desk
  • notifies residents of visitors
  • instructs resident's visitor according to resident's instructions
  • receives and processes incoming mail
  • accepts all outgoing mail/packages
  • types, copies, orders, and maintains inventory of office supplies, performing other clerical duties as assigned
  • maintains and updates emergency phone number log and keeps log at front desk
  • maintains and updates emergency contact information on each resident and keeps information at front desk
  • assists managers with various clerical responsibilities
  • pages staff as necessary
  • takes RSVPs for special functions, as necessary
  • oversees sign-up for scheduled transportation
  • hands out maintenance requests forms and passes them onto environmental services director
  • performs other duties as necessary, to include light housekeeping duties
